About

globe The African and Asian Studies Centers at Michigan State University have been privileged to work with Community College colleagues for more than twenty years in promoting the development of high quality curricula and programming that focuses on these two important continents. We are particularly proud of our along association with the Midwest Institute for International and Inter-Cultural Education (MIIIE), a vibrant consortium of community colleges from throughout the Midwest. The African Asian Curriculum Project for Community Colleges is funded through federal grants to the African and Asian Studies Centers that are designated as National Resource Centers for International Programming. The project was designed and developed in a collaborative process with ongoing input from teaching faculty at colleges associated with the MIIIE. Each module has been developed by MIIIE associated faculty who are strongly committed to international education and who are experienced community college professors. The site is designed so that additional modules can be easily added as they become available. In addition to the curricular module the site includes important links to information on each country in Africa and Asia (Country Overview tab) and direct links to important news sites on Africa and Asia.
